Man, skin’s in!

In the recently concluded VHIMW, we saw male models walk down the ramp in tiny shorts, unbuttoned shirts that provided a full view of sculpted torsos and some even walked shirtless!
When we touched base with the model frat on this, they said it was cool and the designers agreed too.
Muzammil, who scorched the ramp in shorts designed by Siddhartha Tytler, says that ever since he walked the ramp in those shorts, phone calls and SMSes haven���t stopped.He asked, ���People have called and said that I looked orgasmic in those shorts... now, what���s that? I wanted to take off my shirt too but I didn���t because I thought that would get too much. In fact, more than me, Mr Sunil Sethi wanted me to take off my shirt! Shorts are normal on the ramp. If you check out pics from the men���s week in Milan, you���ll come across such stuff. Plus, a designer���s got to look into other territories. I don���t mind wearing trunks on the ramp either.���
Samant Chauhan explains, ���If you look at any international collection, you���ll see four-five such garments being showcased always. A slot is reserved only for briefs and if that���s what���s happened here at the first men���s week, I���d say that���s nothing new. And boxers, trunks and even undies are all a part of men���s fash. So neither can you ignore it, nor can you say that it���s overdone. In the case of women, you can showcase many different things but in men���s fash, the options are not many.���
Among the few menswear designers among women, Rajvi Mohan says, ���I showed men like that ���coz that was a part of my collections��� theme. It was about beaches and holidays in the summer, so it was important to create that mood. I don���t know if the other designers showed men like that ���coz their collection���s theme required it or if they wanted to show some bare torsos. Trunks are very much a part of men���s collections and so are boxers with half done jackets. If that has been executed well, then that���s well done!���
